Description

An easy access mountain bike trail system for all levels of riders.

The Moab Brand Trails are a series of trails about 7 miles north of the Colorado River, north of Moab.  They get their name from four of the major trails that spell out "MOAB."  They include the Bar M, Circle O, Rockin A and Bar B. I was curious how they came to the names and my local bike shop mechanic informed me they are named after Cow branding irons used by local ranches.  There is much more to ride here beyond these four trails.

This is a great location for an introduction to mountain biking as well as those at the intermediate and advanced levels.  For beginners, try the Lazy EZ trail which is a 3 mile loop off the Bar M trail.  The Bar M is another great trail for beginners and about a 7 mile loop around all the trail included in the MOAB Brand Trail system.

For the more advanced rider, try the Deadman's Ridge or Killer B.  Only try these if you are an experienced rider!  I can survive these trails but definitely requires advance skills.

For a great experience riding slick rock, head for the Circle O trail.  This is a 3 mile loop off the Bar M trail.  To make it a loop, you have to ride about a 1.3 mile section of the Bar M.  The Circle O follows a rust colored line on the slick rock through tight turns and quick ups and downs.  This is an intermediate trail for a 26'er but if your riding a 29'er, you have to up your skills for the tight turns!

This area is always my warm up day.  It also makes for a nice easy day if you still want to ride the day after Porcupine Rim.  It's also easy to ride here from town if you don't have a car to shuttle bikes.

Mountain Bike the Moab Brand Trails Reviews

Had a blast here for my first time mountain biking. We did not bring a car capable of carrying bikes to Moab, and most shuttles are closed due to covid-19 so it was very convenient to rent bikes from Ken at Bighorn right across the highway from the trails! We rode the lazy EZ loop which was a blast, the rusty spur and small sections of bar M, before stopping for lunch on the slick rock of Circle O. Great view of arches and the la sals. We then stepped up our game by completing the north 40 loop, an intermediate/advanced trail. It was a blast but exhausting!
