Beautiful single track. Well traveled and maintained. Solid 7 mile round trip. Flowy descent. 1-2 hour ride time (dependent upon skill level). Mostly Shaded.

Mueller Park is a beautiful, quaint canyon, with some sweeping up canyon views throughout the ascent. The trail is a fun, flowy, well maintained single track from the bridge all the way to the rock. You will pass a bald strip (pipeline) that runs North to South which marks about halfway to the rock. At the top, you will find a well maintained view point with benches that overlooks the Salt Lake Valley toward Antelope Island State Park.

If you are feeling adventurous, hop off your bike at the view point and scramble down to Elephant rock.

Starting elevation is about 5,225 feet with a steep grade for about a quarter mile and then a gradual 3.5 mile climb to about 6,250 at Elephant Rock.

Have a blast on the way down, BUT BE CAREFUL. The trail can get busy, and I had a mild collision coming around a corner on my way up just last week. Slow down around the corners, and a bell is helpful if you've got one.

Getting There:

From I-15, take exit 315 for Woods Cross and Bountiful. Head East from the interstate and remain on 2600 S. It will curve left and turn into Orchard Drive. Remain on Orchard Drive until you reach 1800 S in Bountiful. Turn right and continue East on 1800 S until you arrive at Mueller Park Canyon. Park somewhere on the road before the park entrance. There are a handful of stalls right at the trailhead, but they are often full. Ride into the park and find the trailhead just before the entrance gate on your right. You will cross a small bridge marked "trail."

Mountain Bike to Elephant Rock Reviews

One of my favorite trails. Fantastic riding for much of the year. It's one of the first trails clear due to its lower elevation and its one of the most beautiful in the fall.

Excellent trail! Beautiful canyon in a mountain of scrub oak. Busy, so take your time. When riding a bear bell is great to notify people you are coming.
