Iconic views of the Colorado River and canyon lands of the Southwest.

Dead Horse Point State Park sits next to Canyonlands National Park with expansive views of the canyons carved by the Colorado River. The park can be accessed year-round and the best views are within feet of the parking lot. To capture the warm light of sunrise on the red rocks, head for the western rim and look for interesting trees to include in your foreground. Most of the area does not have railings so watch yourself near the edge.

Quiet little brother of Canyonlands Island in the Sky this spot is awesome for an early morning. Recommend checking this state park out before or after your day in Canyonlands for exceptional views.

Being late summer and at sunrise, this was almost a ghost town when we arrived. What followed was a rare chance to fully capture this landscape without interruption. It also allowed for some real quiet time and solitude.

Jenny & I spent our ten year anniversary here. Simply incredible. BLM camping nearby if park site is full. Keep an eye out for jackrabbits.

Got here for sunrise, and wow, what a stunner. A much more expansive and magnificent view than Horseshoe Bend, plus way less people than Arches.

This was a super nice park, campsites were very nice. We went to Dead Horse Point early in the morning. Its like it's own mini-Grand Canyon, pretty awesome.
