Butler Fork offers awesome intermediate and advanced skiing including Mt Raymond, Circle All Peak, and Gobblers Knob. There is a wide variety of terrain with great trees, wide open bowls, and steep chutes.

The trail head for Butler Fork is 8 miles up Big Cottonwood Canyon on the left side of the road. Throw your gear on and head up the trail. Continue along the skin track and after about 20 minutes you'll come upon a fork in the trail. The right trail will take you up the East Fork towards Butler Basin and Dog Lake; however, the left fork is most often traveled and will take you up the West Fork to Circle All Peak and the West Butler Saddle. From the West Butler Saddle you can either traverse south to Circle All Peak and ski the Butler trees, or you can continue west toward Mt Raymond and  Mill A Basin. If the avalanche danger is sketchy at all, I suggest going up to Circle All Peak and skiing the Butler trees.

The overall elevation gain to Circle All peak is about 1,677 ft with a max elevation of 8,699 ft.

Make sure to check to avalanche forecast for the day before you ever travel in the backcountry. Know before you go!
