Head down class II-III rapids. This is a great run for kayakers and advanced SUP'ers. The canyon walls provide great natural beauty during the paddle. Duration: This is a 7-mile run for about 2 hours.

This is a great beginner river for whitewater kayaking, with rapids from class II-III. It has plenty of features to keep you entertained, such as the Rock Garden, old bridges, and Taggart Falls, with several class II rapids in between. Be aware, there is a low bridge at one point in the river that may need to be portaged during high water flow. During regular flow, you can paddle underneath where the arrows point on the far right side.

There are also some great places for playboaters which give the experienced paddler a little more of a challenge. The canyon walls and interesting features such as Devil’s Slide provide beauty throughout.

What should someone else know if they want to do it? Put-in: Henefer (41.04186346, -111.51786089). Exit 112 off of 1-84. Follow the dirt road on the east side of the freeway until you reach the large parking area next to the river.

Take-out: Taggart (41.05832864, -111.59129977). Exit 105 off of I-84. Turn towards the river until you reach a dirt road.

Two vehicles (or more) are needed to shuttle people and equipment back to your vehicle at Henefer. Otherwise, you’ll need to hitch a ride. This river is pretty busy during the peak season, so hitching a ride with a fellow boater usually isn’t a problem.

The run is about 7 miles long and will take around two hours.

Check out Taggart's Grill on the other side of the freeway from Taggart’s take-out.

Whitewater Kayaking the Weber River Reviews

This is a fun section to float, some chill water and some crazy stuff. ( I broke my tailbone hitting a boulder in my tube, ouch!) The bridges is somewhat of a big party spot. A local land owner used to have a big rope swing set up and bbq on the weekends which was really fun stop along the float.

I just wanted to throw in that you can totally tube this river as well. If you do not have a kayak you can buy a tube for a couple bucks and enjoy the river as well!
