Relaxing area, beautiful scenery, and a lake! Hiking & biking trails, campsites, fishing, and everything outdoors.

If you love everything outdoors, the Hydaway Outdoor Recreation Center is the place for you! You can do almost any activity you can think of here. If you aren't affiliated with Liberty University, you can't rent their equipment, but you can bring you own to use.

The main attraction is the lake where you can swim, fish, paddle board, kayak, or just hang out on the beach. There are also miles and miles of exploring to do with over 20 trails around the area that you can hike or bike on. There is also what is called "Hammock Haven" which an area set up specifically for your hammock so you can do some relaxing. A new addition is the dedicated campsites with tables and fire pits. The area is so scenic and a great place to get some good photos too. It's a great place to spend the day relaxing or adventuring out a little!

I have been a few times with friends and family and I always enjoy it. The trail we walk isn’t to difficult but we always get a good workout and there are some great views.

The activities were super fun, but the water was absolutely freezing. It honestly sucks all the air out of you, which didn't necessarily ruin the fun for me but it definitely didn't help anything either. Also, one piece bathing suits are required, since it's part of Liberty and the one piece bathing suit rule is enforced.

If you're a Liberty Student then this is your place for all outdoor adventure.
