Lake views with plenty of nature on this loop trail

Great hike right in the city of Newport News.  It is a loop trail that is 4.8 miles and has a moderate level of traffic.

  • Easy, good for all skill levels
  • Pet friendly
  • Water and wooded views with lots of shade throughout
  • Clearly marked trail
  • No bikes
  • Parking at Mariners Museum and at Lions Bridge; I parked at Mariners Museum and that’s where these directions send you
  • Benches throughout the trail

Hike Noland Loop Trail Reviews

The community is pretty quite, sometimes you’ll see families walking around. It’s an enjoyable run through the loop.

This is a great trail for people looking for a break from the city. It is in the woods and is not too crowded. It is family friendly and takes you past a few spots. My favorite is the bridge.

Great trail with a surprising amount of wild life. I always park at the Mariners Museum lot, but there is another trailhead by the water. The trail is very well marked, they even mark some of the prominent roots that are trip hazards.

Museum was actually a lot of fun. Lots of neat history in there if you're into that!
