Photograph Great Falls of the Potomac Reviews

I have been to the Virginia side of Great Falls (there is also a Maryland side) multiple times during the past few summers. This park definitely fills up on weekends. America the Beautiful pass will get you in/parked for free! Went recently on a rainy/drizzly day and it was pleasant not to fight the crowds.

Been through here quite a few times and its a hit if you'd like to bring friends/family along. They can stay busy while you take photos (if you're focused on the falls) with plenty of sitting areas, walking trails, and even outdoor grills (if you're making an evening out of it).

I didn’t think I would find any outdoor type activity while in DC. Glad I was wrong and stumbled on this place. It is unreal how big these falls are. Several trails lead to different points of view and their are visitor centers that can give you more ideas on how to experience this park.

This waterfall doesn't feature any tall drops, but that certainly doesn't make it any less of an awesome spot. There are many trails and viewpoints that let you view this wide and powerful waterfall push its way through the deep Mather Gorge. A few trails lead you down the rocks and out to the water, but keep in mind, swimming is not permitted.

Great Falls is one of Virginia's must see waterfalls
