Swim at Arnold Valley Pool
Natural Bridge Station, Virginia
Description
Added by Spenser Reid
Distance: 200 ft from the road. Beautiful creek bed. Several swimming holes. Rope swing. Natural water slide. Crisp, cool water.
Arnold Valley Pool might be a couple hundred feet from the road but most people don’t even notice when they pass by. This swimming hole is located on the same road as Devil’s Marbleyard and is the perfect place to cool off after the intense hike at the Marbleyard or on any hot summer day. The swimming hole is spring fed so the water is always cold! There are three massive boulders that encompass the hole, two of which form a natural 5-foot water slide that plunges you into the deepest part of the hole. There is also a 20 ft. rope swing dangling from one of the surrounding trees that is sure to keep you entertained for hours. Make sure you are careful when jumping because there are rocks just beneath the surface. It is important to always wade through the water before jumping.
At milepost 71 on the Blue Ridge Parkway, turn onto the unmarked gravel road, which takes you down the mountain for several miles. At the bottom of the mountain park right before the second small bridge.

Pretty cool spot. Do your part to keep it clean and natural if you go.

Nice summer swimming hole! I showed up relatively early and it wasn't crowded at all. Bring a few friends and hang out!

Loved this small little cliff jumping spot! There was a rope swing and natural slide! Such a great afternoon with friends! The water is cold because it is a natural spring but it is a great spot that is not over crowded!

Super fun! It is a little difficult to find though. If you're driving in the direction of Devils Marbleyard parking on your left it will soon come up on the stream located on the right. If you start driving up and around the mountain you've gone too far.

This was awesome! My brothers best friend and I went! The only problem I had was finding it... The GPS will take you too far... It is right across the gravel road from the sign that say 18 ton limit!

Went here with a couple friends and stayed for hours, water was cold but felt great on a hot day. Definitely plan on going back soon.

Took my two sons here and had a lot of fun! If you're coming from Lexington, there's a much quicker route by going through Natural Bridge Station to Arnold Valley Rd which then turns into the Petites Gap gravel road mentioned above. Park just after the first bridge. All in all well worth the trip.
