Camp at Lake Ingalls
Leavenworth, Washington
Description
Added by Natala Menezes
In spring you get gorgeous wildflowers, in fall the larch trees turn golden. In summer, clear views of Mt Stuart are stunning. Also, mountain goats.
We did this hike on an overcast day in seattle hoping for better sunshine on the other side of the pass. The first 1.7 miles up trail 1390 is a series of shaded switchbacks. The second 1.7 miles up to Ingalls pass is very exposed -- we were grateful for the overcast temperate weather, if it had been sunny we would have needed more water (as there is none on the trail). We camped in the Ingalls Basin - taking the alternate route. It is steep getting down into the basin.
Tons of camping spots (NW permit required) -- but limited water (the drought is real!)
