Dougan Falls
Washougal, Washington
Description
Added by Jennifer Heifferon
Dougan Falls is a beautiful waterfall with seven simple campsites. This is also a legendary swimming hole only yards from camp. There is tons of space for sun bathing and relaxing.
Does camping right next to an epic swimming hole sound like a pretty good way to spend a hot summer weekend? If so, you need to add Dougan Creek Campground to your list of weekend getaways.
The Dougan Falls area of the Washougal River is packed with at least a dozen deep swimming holes, but the biggest, bluest, and best one is located adjacent to the Dougan Creek Campground, just below Dougan Falls. There are also a number of fun rocks and outcroppings to launch yourself off of, if you’re up for it.
The campground does not accept reservations and is managed by the Department of Natural Resources. Make sure you can get to your site early because car access is restricted after 8pm during the summer. Use your Washington state Discovery Pass for your park fee.

Dougan Falls Reviews
I do not believe you can get a camping permit for this area but it’s still a blast to swim at during the day! Especially on a sunny day!!

Dougan falls was a great easy one nighter. The small campground is best for tent camping which is great because it seems like these days campgrounds accommodate RVs more than tents. We went in March and the place was barely full, 4 sites taken including us. I can see how it would get full fast in the summer though.
