Enjoy views of Mt. Adams, dark skies for amazing stargazing, and lakeside camping.

Takhlakh Lake is located 7 miles NW of Mt Adams with a 53 site campground on the west side of the lake as well as a day use picnic area.

The campground features a boat ramp and a wheelchair-accessible 1.1 mile flat trail, which encircles the lake, and accesses the Meadows Trail that climbs up to the edge of old lava flows. From the top, you can see Mt. Rainier on a clear day.

In 2013, National Geographic magazine featured a photo of Takhlakh Lake, naming it one of the twenty places in the world chosen for it's Must-Do Trip's, called "Ultimate Adventure Bucket List 2013".

Camp at Takhlakh Lake Reviews

Great write up! Will second the boat/kayak if you intend to fish. Also there are some other small lakes in the area if takhlakh is too busy. As well as many good day hikes.

This place is awesome!!! So serene but watch the mosquitoes!!!
