Looking for a camping adventure without even having to leave Seattle? Camp Long is the perfect option for beginning campers, families, or anyone who just wants to spend some time in nature without having to deal with a road trip.

While Camp Long isn’t necessarily a secret, it still definitely flies under the radar of most folks. It’s a 68-acre park that features forest hikes, rock climbing, and ample room to explore. There are 10 rustic cabins available for camping ($50/night) that are well positioned to allow for a comfortable amount of privacy. Each cabin has six full-sized bunk beds, a sink, faucet, electricity, BBQ, picnic tables, benches, and a fire ring. So yes, it’s far from roughing it, but this experience is all about convenience. There are also clean showers and bathrooms located near the cabins.’

Me and my wife just moved to the area and we decided to get some hiking/camping gear. We love close to this camp so we decided to test some of our equipment here. It is a pretty neat quick hike. Once we were inside it seemed like we where not in the city at all. The trail is pretty easy but offered some cool views. Once we got to the campsite area it opened up to a field surrounded by the cabins they also have a ropes course for those interested in that sort of thing. Would definitely recommend it.

This place is awesome. It feels odd to be five minutes from a taco time, hearing train whistles and traffic, but also making camp coffee and hanging out by a fire. I like backpacking. I like rough stuff. This is something totally different and enjoyable in its own right. Climbing walls here are not to be missed. It's easy to spend a day relaxing in the field, walking the trails, and doing a little bit of fun, accessible bouldering. Four stars for a couple reasons... No dogs overnight... Bummer. I get it, it's a city park. Booze and smoking laws apply too. Additionally, the prison mattresses in the bunks feel weird. Hardly any natural light in the cabins... This all makes sense for $50/night in the middle of the city, but that's why it's not five stars.
