This easy to access hike gives you stunning views of a 100' waterfall and the beautiful Big Quilcene River.

This hike is located immediately off of Highway 101 in the Falls View Campground. If the campground is closed you can park right outside of the gate (but don't block it) and hike in. Inside the gate you will see 3 paths in front of you, take a left and after about a quarter mile you will reach the trail head. There are actually two trail options here. I recommend hiking the option on the right first. This trail is a very short loop (no more than a tenth of a mile) that gives you a perfect view of a waterfall crashing into the river below.

After you've completed the shorter loop take the trail on the left. This one is a little longer and a bit more strenuous but definitely worth it. The trail quickly descends about 200' via switchbacks to the shore of the Big Quilcene River. Once down there you can easily spend a day exploring the forest and shoreline and lazing about on boulders. After you've had your fill of river views turn back around and head up the way you came. But don't worry, those switchbacks will be over before you know it!
