This is a fantastic hike just one hour east of Seattle, Washington. Once at the top you have panoramic views of the Cascades, Mount Rainier, the Puget Sound area, and on a clear day you can even see the Olympic Mountains.

You start out at an elevation of about 1200 feet and you gradually make your way up to the top at 4450 feet. You are hiking through forest land the whole time with peaks of a beautiful view to the north every so often. Along the way there are many rock walls which you can climb at, however on our trip we did not. There are a few fallen trees within the last mile but are easy to navigate around. While there we even saw some patches of snow that had yet to melt, although that wont last very long.

Once to the top you can see for miles in every direction. To the north you can see the Peaks of Mount Baker and Glacier Peak, to the south is Mount Rainer in all her glory and to the west is Chester Morse lake, Rattlesnake Lake, and the Puget Sound. This is a beautiful hike

Hike Mount Washington Reviews

The views from the top of Mount Washington are wonderful! We were lucky enough to hike on a clear day where we could see perfectly. The trail is certainly popular, so start early!

It was challenging enough but I could've lived without the loose rock. Not horrible one the way up but had to really watch my step on the way down!! Packing list: add sunscreen and bug spray - lots of bitey flies. You're in the forest for most of the hike but when you near the top you are almost totally exposed. Would've been great views but for all the smoke from the BC fires.

This hike was beautiful!! Went on a clear sunny day in March. Felt like I was able to get a little bit of every season on this hike. There was a little snow on the trail but the weather was so nice it felt like summer but the air was still a little cold so it was like a fall crisp day. Got a little lost finding the actual trail. If you are at the south entrance for parking you will see two signs before hitting the trail. After the first sign you will be walking on a logging trail where you will find your second sign. I ended up walking past the trail entrance but it pops up on the left about 0.3 of a mile after the second sign. On the trail you see streams and waterfalls. There are a few spots to rock climb which was cool and the views were amazing! Definitely recommend this hike.

A couple buddies and I went up Mount Washington earlier this summer and had a blast! It's a great hike with a spectacular view, you can see mailbox peak, rattlesnake ledge, Mt Rainier, and various lakes around the base! The first couple miles are fairly steep and but then leads into a comfortable and steady incline until you reach the top! Bring lunch and a blanket the top is a perfect place for a picnic and a view!
