Steep trail with moderate elevation gain but views are totally worth it once you get to the top!

Day hike with moderate elevation gain, 2.1 miles one way. You will be going up, up, up until you get to the top where you will find the lake. Take your time going up - take breaks and stop to check out the forest around you. There were a few times where we found it difficult to follow the trail (you will need to walk across a few fallen trees to cross over a stream). Bring with a lunch or some snacks to enjoy near the lake. Most of the hike is through forest and in the shade, but once you get to the lake there is an opening with more sunlight. Most find it easier (and faster) to go back down than going up. However, use caution and take your time if you have bad knees.

Be sure to pick up a map of the different day hikes from a visitor's center upon entering the park.
