Description

Stevens to Stevens, both in a day! Spend the morning in the mountains skiing at Stevens Pass, Washington. Drive down the mountain to Lake Stevens and spend the afternoon slalom skiing and wake boarding! Distance: 65 miles driving from Stevens Pass to Lake Stevens.
Have you ever dreamed of snow skiing and water skiing in the same day? This March, plan your adventure of a lifetime to Stevens Pass and Lake Stevens, Washington. You will need a winter coat, a wet suit, and a heart made of love for the outdoors.
Keep an eye on mountain and lake weather conditions as you plan your day. Stevens Pass is usually open through March. If you choose to go on a snow day in the mountains, remember that it will most likely be raining at the lake. However, rain is not the worst kind of waterskiing weather! If the temps are in the 50's the lake won't feel as cold.
Once you've made your preparations, enjoy the day! Head up early to Stevens Pass to catch the first chair of the day (the slopes open at 9AM). If it's open, make sure to explore the back side of the mountain, too. Take in all the beauty of the mountains and remember to save some leg strength for the afternoon!
After lunch, drive down the mountain and prepare yourself for the second half of the day. Change out of cold ski clothes, dress in swimsuits and a lot of layers! Give yourself about 3 hours to drive from the mountain to the boat launch at Willard Wyatt Park. The sunset at Lake Stevens in March is around 7:00PM. If you're at the lake by 4:00PM, you have plenty of time for a few ski runs before watching the sunset! Bring a thermos of water for hot coffee and plenty of towels for after skiing.
If you're frozen at this point, remember what you just accomplished and take in all of the wonder of life in the Pacific Northwest!!
