Snowshoe up to the top of a snow covered ridge to view Artist Point, Mount Shuksan to the east, and Mount Baker to the west!
From the south end of the ski area, snowshoe past an old ski lodge along an old access road parallel to the ski hill. Then, ascend Austin Pass (2 miles) following the broad switchbacks. Once at the top of the ridge, follow the road to the left 1/4 mile and take in the views of Artist Point, Mount Shuksan, and Mount Baker.
When we started this snowshoe hike the wind was cold and the sky was gray. At the top of the ridge, the sun peaked through and colored the sky with soft bright colors. It's an excellent snowshoe adventure with a lot of variety for intermediate explorers!
