Grassy trail through a wooded section of the grand Ice Age Trail
Just off 53 between Rice Lake and Spooner, a trailhead with parking and bathrooms places you at the Tuscobia Trail segment. Northbound will have you following a wide gravel path with the sun on your back, but head eastward and you will enjoy the quiet of the forestland. The trail is wide but grassy, not maintained with a gravel base. The wildflowers and shade of the tree line were the only companions found, as there were no other hikers traveling through. The popularity of the Ice Age Trail usually lends to a few encounters and storytelling with fellow hikers, especially on beautiful early autumn days. Besides easy hiking conditions and the pleasant of nature, there is nothing too spectacular to note. The trail was great for some exercise and some fresh air.
