Buckeye Hot Springs Reviews
this place used to be awesome but people have been disregarding the law and disrespecting the locals. when i say locals i mean the wildlife. the law states you must park or camp at least 300’ (100m’) from any water source. the critters rely on this water to survive. pitch your tent BEFORE the sign which clearly states NO CAMPING. and dont be a douche and park right next to the tub. we’re here to enjoy nature. not your vehicle/ “music”/ whatever. LEAVE NO TRACE and please pick up any litter you see. help us educate others by explaining these rules to anybody you see violating them. thanks!

We went on a Sunday in August around 9:30am and the springs were already full of people. It was mostly one large group. The road to get there is rough in places but no 4wd needed. The walking trail is steep and slippery in sections. We did see one snake so just be aware with your kids and dogs. Also saw some litter around the area so please leave it as clean or cleaner than when you arrived. The parking lot is very sloped and is right above the springs so a worst case scenario is someone forgets to set their parking brake and a vehicle rolls down the hill into the springs full of people. So please set you parking brake and maybe use a rock to chalk your tire. And on that note, enjoy the springs!

This is just a short drive off of the 395 and a great little stop. The hot springs are pretty unique and tucked alongside a mountain river. The rocks that form the hot springs can be rearranged to make multiple pools with different temperatures. We had a 4Runner so no problems getting there, road is pretty well graded.

There are a ton of nearby campgrounds. I recommend camping here and then waking up early for a soak. You're more likely to have the hot spring to yourself!

My boyfriend and I went here before Valentine's Day and there were a ton of people, probably around 15. Weird since it's quite a drive off-road and a bit of a hike too. Other than that, the hot spring was large and really warm, luckily it was right off of a river so the cold water circulated in. It's a fun day trip!
