Description

Added by Rachel Fidler

Beautiful hike to Mist Falls, offering stunning views of surrounding peaks and the fast-flowing river.

Parking: Park in the Roads' End parking lot.

Trail: The trail starts out on the flat Kanawyer Loop Trail, following the river closely for almost the entire trail.

At 2.0 miles, you will approach a trail junction. Take the trail on your left, which climbs a narrow path into a denser pine forest.

At 3.0 miles, the trail will begin to climb along flat rocks, leading stair-like to Mist Falls. Some impressive views of Kings Canyon valley can be seen at this point. At around 4.5 miles, you'll reach Mist Falls - an impressive waterfall.

When we hiked following California's rainy winter last year, the falls and river were roaring - parts of the trail were actually steeped in water, causing a large number of mosquitoes to hang around. Don't forget your bugspray!
