The city has really cleaned up the trails since I have lived here. It's nice and peaceful. Even benches for a little rest. Lots of people go on the trails so it can be fine going by yourself during the day. Parts are nice too at night. Great to run your dog or just have some quiet time.

The hike is good for your heart but i feel like it was intermediate not beginner. Straight upwards the whole time and the view wasn't that great to me. The river is amazing for first dates to have picnics at and that was beautiful. But multnomah Falls view is better with a selfie stick or at the bottom.

You see so far down the Columbia towards 205 and then some. It's an incline but the view is so worth it in the end. My Fitbit said 6.8 miles and the trail says 4 altogether. Wasn't crowded on weekdays so if you happen to have it off I'd go then and not the weekend

Loved this trail!!! Very scenic and great views. Some spots on the trail are closed for maintenance and indefinitely. Being on the ledges with only the cord to hold on too were a tad scary with others on the trail. Lower punchbowl Falls is great to just take a dunk but when you go to the actual punchbowl Falls it was very cold water and deep even with the water being low. 90 degree weather during the hike the water felt amazing!!! I knew I'd warm up as soon as I got out of the water! The mountain water was so clear!!! 5 star recommend going!!! No need to pack a lot just you and your water bottle!
