Photograph Whaler Island
Crescent City, California
Description
Added by Annelise A
A little-known knoll with a beautiful view!
Whaler Island used to be a true island before it was connected to the mainland by a man-made road. It's a small little knoll at the point of Anchor Way. But don't be fooled by its size—the view from the top is spectacular! There are a few small trails worn into the rock leading to the top. Give yourself some time to explore, take in the view, and try to spot the sea lions.
Once you're done, head over to the Chart Room Restaurant for some California sea-side grub or Schmidt's House of Jambalaya to spice it up!

Photograph Whaler Island Reviews
We stopped on Anchor Way to get out and stretch our legs, and were drawn to the craggy greenery of Whaler Island. There are lots of little trails covering the knoll, and the view at the top is surprisingly beautiful for such a little-known location—you have great views of the ocean and the sea lions, not to mention that it feels like you've somehow teleported to Ireland!
