Amazing kayaking tripSee seals and and a beautiful waterfallGet a good workout on the whole bodyGlassy waters in the morning are blissGood bonding experience and you can see some historical drawings

So Granite Falls is roughly 18km from Deep Cove and is a on average 4hr kayak depending on winds and tides. Leisurely kayaking there would take 6-7hrs.

We were lucky in the morning because there was no wind at all so we made it in just over 3 hrs. And what a beautiful kayak it was. We saw at least 5 seals on the way and stop at some rocks on the way to see the Petroglyphs. Coming back the wind can turn which makes it extremely hard, so be prepared.

I would suggest to make this an overnight camping trip and leave in the morning, set up camp once you get there and come back early the next day to avoid the winds picking up in the late afternoon. You can camp right in front of the falls. There is a few spots that have been made to be off the floor on decking, so you won't have to worry about being directly on the ground especially if it's wet.

Camping will leave you plenty of time to explore on the first day and not feel like you have to cram it all in. There are no permits needed, just bring your gear, a sense of adventure, and have a great time.
