Sunset Shots at Lake Dillon

To get to the southern end of the lake from Denver, head west on 70 until you reach 9. Take 9 for a few miles until you find the spot on the lake where you want to get started.

On the south side of Lake Dillon, there was an abundance of old stumps lining the beach, which would occasionally drift into the cool water. I originally spotted them in the winter and knew I had to come back when all the ice had melted. Fortunately, I was met with some beautiful clouds that evening that made for an awesome sunset on the lake.

If you're as lucky as I was, you brought a pair of water shoes with you. My wife had recently bought me some new water shoes that I just had to give a try. Take a look around the beach and once you find a good spot to wade into, you'll get a completely different perspective. The sky will do all the rest.
