Starts out easy. Don't forget to notice the hieroglyphics. And a nice gradual climb up to the Lookout. Bathrooms at the top. Very peaceful and several lookouts looking north.

Love this trail. It's just south of the city and not that built up. Just so peaceful and serene. Have only gone to the ruins, not to the mines. Parking lot really fills up on weekend mornings. No bathrooms. The trail is not very well marked so I needed to use the app to make sure I was on the right trail (a common complaint) I need to go to ranger station and let them know. Fairly easy up to the ruins.

You hike up in the canyon but once you get up top, there's a bench to just sit and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake. This is a day use section on the lake. Dog friendly. A bathroom located at the trailhead.

Trailhead is easy to find. You hike up and pass memorials for each of the 19 we lost that day. The morning we went it was a 30 percent chance of snow so we bundled up. We hiked up into the cloud cover and into the snow. Great hike for those who are able to do moderate hikes. I will definately do this again. Remember you are at a higher elevation so it can be harder to catch your breath.
