Sugar Bottom Trail is a 6.9 mile loop hike that takes you by a lake located near Solon, Iowa.
Sugar Bottom Trail is a moderately trafficked trail that is primarily used for hiking, walking, running, and mountain biking. This trail is perfect during the summer but during the rainier months of the year we recommend checking the trail's website because it is subject to closure due to flooding (Please check the ICORR page for up-to-date trail conditions.).
If you're looking to hike or bird watch, be aware that this trail is heavily trafficked by mountain bikers for it's high quality. This trial is very convent for people who are biking in from North Liberty. If you are looking to ride in from North Liberty it is easiest to commute on my bike via Mehaffey bridge paved trail. Historically there are many more bikers than hikers on this trail because the terrain can be harsh at points to walk on foot, stay aware of bikers!

Mountain Bike Sugar Bottom Trail Reviews
Really neat trail with mountain bike trail nearby. There’s a campground close as well. Lots of bikers in the area. Definitely would recommend if you’re in the Iowa City area!
