This lake loop provides you with scenic views the whole way. Start or finish your trip here with an affordable canoe rental from the main dock.

Starting at the Hotel Lago Di Braies, you have the option to loop around the lake to hiker's left or right. To the left is the local dock, while to the right is a chapel and barn. Either way, you will end up where you started no longer than an hour and a half later. Once you are done with the loop, you have several things to choose from. There are a couple places on the premises to grab some great local food, and if thats not enough - rent a canoe from the dock and take it out on the pristine lake.

I'll always love Lago di Braies, but it's become such a tourist trap in the last few years that it really just feels like a theme park now more than a national park. If you want to visit, arrive early and try to visit on a weekday in the shoulder season if you want to avoid the crowds. The boathouse is open from May to October as long as the water level is high enough.
