So we got super lucky to find this place and twice as lucky we were there during the light show. I don't know if I could find it again but if you do it's absolutely amazing.

Quick and easy hike after work with my two kiddos 9 & 11. They loved it! Lots for them to explore and crawl around on while I took photos.

This was a great hike. I took my two little girls 7 and 9, nice and easy for them. Total time including hanging out at the falls was about 3hrs. Great little picnic table at about the halfway point to sit and have some snacks. I would mind going back and running this on my own. The Google directions were not very good took me to a closed gate. You want to take Fernridge Rd at the east end of Gates, about 1.2 miles from HWY 22 with a clear parking area on the right side of the road. No fee.
Let me tell you guys the directions from Google are not good, half the roads were closed and after 3hrs of driving from one closed gate we went home, this is the "Hidden Valley of Giants". In all fairness when we got home I did find another website that said to call BLM 503-375-5646 for a recommended directions, I'm guessing they change which roads are open for various reason so getting there will probably never be the same twice. I really want to check this place out but I guess I will have to call to get directions next time. Hope this saves someone else a wasted day and lots of frustration.
