This hike is great when you're in the woods, with several nice little lake views, but the best view is from the shoulder of the highway connecting the two parts of trail. Not too scary, as there is a little ledge I jumped up on to feel further from passing cars, but not great if your clumsy or have children with you. Missed a couple turns, as the trail markers get fewer the further you go.

I have been here a few times now, and I love it! I always see a fair amount of wildlife, hawks and other birds, snakes, and lizards. I have even found some morel mushrooms here before! This place is beautiful, and I can wait to go back after all the work they have been doing on the dam. Last trip we found the little hidden spring a bit off trail and we're able to investigate some live mussels living under the little fall! Great trip every time with this park. P.S.- the chefs at the Foggy Bottom are very accommodating, even for my vegetarian self!

I hiked the Rocky Point, Little Bugaboo, and North Rim trails. I really enjoyed the trails themselves and the scenery. I had a little bit of a hard time with my almost 20lb pack on the inclines of Rocky Point, but that was the point! To challenge myself with a heavy pack! I didn't see much wildlife, other than a few birds on the trail, and lots of bugs/spider webs. On my way out of the park I did see a beautiful white tailed doe! I am planning to go back immediately to stay overnight at one of the backpacking campsites. Highly recommend.
