"Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt." - John Muir

I had a buddy take me here, and I'm not going to lie, I was very surprised. It was really bizarre seeing a cave full of sand in the Virginia mountains. Totally out of place, but fascinating!

Easily accessible and peaceful! I walked up the trail to the lookout point and sat there for about an hour undisturbed.

The hike to the top of Humphrey's Peak is refreshing. The ascent took me about 2.5 hours and was well worth the effort. It was hard to believe that I was in Arizona, because everything was so green and alive!

Exploring Chimney Rock allows visitors a glimpse of the North Carolina scenery without exerting too much effort. Taking the stairs to the top can be challenging, but for those who just want the view, an elevator is readily available. There are some small trails above the rock that can be explored, but most come to Chimney Rock for the picturesque views.
