Fun paved walk through a golf course and along a peaceful creek.

The Bob Jones Trail provides a variety of activities -- running, walking, biking, skateboarding/rollerblading, and some exploring by the creek. You can choose where you would like to start, across the street from the Central Coast Aquarium off Avila Beach Dr. or from the parking lot off Ontario Road. The paved trail traverses a rocky hillside covered in matured oaks, passes a vineyard and two private communities, takes to a private road along the creek, crosses a golf course, and pops out to Avila Beach.

You can use the restrooms at Avila Beach. If you're hungry, along the way is Woodstone Marketplace. There's also a couple of stops where children can play on a swing set, and I believe I saw a small basketball court across from the swing set. Depending which direction you're coming from, there is a gradual incline around the golf course area. Roads are wide, beware of cars on the Blue Heron Dr.

Roundtrip is about 1 hr. 40 min.

Nearby Activities:
Avila Beach is really close by, so you can swim, surf, kayak, SUP, or just relax at the beach.

Parking:
Ontario Road side -- "Bob Jones City to the Sea Bike Trail" sign at the entrance of the lot. Bathroom at the parking lot. Out of the parking lot, turn left until you come up to a crosswalk. That's where the trail starts.
Avila Beach Drive side -- You can park where all the cars are along Avila Beach Dr. You can also park in Avila Beach town, or you can pay for parking at the large parking lot off of 1st St.

Trail Directions:
Ontario Road side -- Cross the walkway and continue on the Bob Jones Trail. You'll be walking under San Luis Bay Dr. and passing Woodstone Marketplace on the right. Continue until the trail becomes Blue Heron Dr., where cars can drive too. On this road, you may see some openings to the creek on the left. (Explore, if you want.) Follow Blue Heron Dr. up until you make a left to go towards the Golf Course area. Follow for a few hundred feet and turn left. Then make a right. Walk a few hundred feet and turn left to continue onto the Bob Jones Trail. You'll cross the bridge continuing onto the trail. The trail eventually ends at the traffic light, where you can explore Avila Beach.

Avila Beach Drive side -- Head northeast on Bob Jones Trail. Turn Right towards Blue Heron Dr. and go about 400 feet. Make a sharp left toward Blue Heron Dr. and go about 150 feet. Turn right towards Blue Heron Dr. and go almost 300 feet. Turn right onto Blue Heron Dr. and beware of cars that are on this road too. Walking on this road will have some opportunities to explore the creek on the right side. Make a slight right onto Bob Jones Trail and go about a half mile. Woodstone Marketplace will be on the left. Make a slight right to stay on Bob Jones Trail and go 1 mile. Trail ends when it pops you out onto Ontario Road.
