This hike never disappoints! Even on days when there’s fog, you’ll always still be able to see the tops of the Golden Gate bridge from here. On a clear day everything is just breathtaking! Make sure to wear layers as it can get pretty windy up there.

If you’re in the area, this is the place to chill and soak up the picture postcard views of the piers. A fun place to surf and watch all the surfers. So, bring a picnic and plan on spending the day here.

So crazy that you can hike through what mostly is a desert, and then, end up at such an oasis! It’s just like out of a movie! If you’re lucky enough to go during a time after it had rained some, you’ll see all sorts of native plants and wildflowers. Unfortunately, no dogs are allowed on the trails, so keep Doggo at home.

No more swings, but expected that based on the reviews here. Still a nice place to go to and just check out. Maybe some brave souls will put more up.

A great place to just hang out. Parking is easy and the hike down to the beach is a breeze. Nice little spot to just chill out and have a picnic and watch all the surfers in the ocean.

The falls are like a leaky faucet and the pool at the end is bone dry, but still a fun hike. Make sure if you bring your dog that you keep them on a leash. Plenty of dogs running around and it can get kind of crazy.

Another great hike close to Los Angeles. Wonderful sweeping views of the city and far less people on the trails. Some areas are more exposed, so be prepared with water, a hat, and sunscreen. I went earlier in the day so I can only imagine that it’ll get hotter as the sun rises. Spectacular views all around, so enjoy!🤩

Why have I not done this trail before! What a great hike and fewer people, then on most of the hikes around Los Angeles. You can get some of the same views that you’ll find on the trails in Griffith Park. A lot of the hike will be on paved roads, so it’s pretty easy. Make sure to wear a hat, sunscreen, and bring water.

One of the better hikes that will give you some of the best views of the city! It can get pretty busy on the weekends, but the paths are wide enough you won’t have to worry about traffic on the trails. I like to go early in the mornings, when there are fewer people. Make sure to bring water, wear sunscreen and a hat, and if you bring your doggos, make sure to keep them on a leash.

Better places around, but definitely less people. Not much to do compared to the other stops, but if you want a quick place for a break, then this is the place.

It’s one thing to see this impressive view in books, but to see it in real life is breathtaking!

Go in the off seasons, which are now few. Seems there are crowds of tourists everywhere. Take the water bus which is cheaper and you can still get great views of the city.

Fun to see but too many tourists. Hard to get a photo without anyone in it.

My favorite movie was filmed at Hotel del Coronado in 1958, “Some Like It Hot” showcased the talents of Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon.

Make sure to bring water. It can get pretty hot and humid. But the payoffs are the views!

Super fun place for me and the kids looked like they were having fun too! Lots of grassy and shaded space, far away from roads, beautiful gardens.

Super cute local park, hidden amongst the homes in the hills of Glendale. Plenty of picnic tables to have your lunch and easy parking on the streets. There are two play areas for the kiddos, including a half basketball court in tennis courts for the adults. Clean bathrooms also are available.

Best place to catch some waves. Keep in mind the beach is made up of small cobblestones, so be careful walking out to the waves. Can get pretty busy on the weekends and summers, so be prepared to get there early, so you can grab a parking spot. Definitely a place to plan to stay the whole day.

One of my favorite beaches in Hawaii! The only downfall is that it can get super crowded during the tourist season and on the weekends. Go on the weekdays when it’s less crowded. If you do score a parking space plan to spend the whole afternoon there. The waters are crystal clear and the sand is so soft, you’ll just want to lay on it without a towel. Pure bliss!

Great place to surf! The paddle out is long but it’s definitely worth it. Best way to get out to the surf is by laying on your stomach, on your board and using your hands to paddle in the shallow waters. Make sure to keep your eye out for sea urchins so that you’re not accidentally hitting one either with your hands or stepping on ones with your feet.

Plenty of picnic tables and get a view of the coast line and beaches from here. Pick up a plate lunch and enjoy the shade of the trees. Plenty of parking, but some spots are metered so make sure to pay attention of the time, so you don’t get a ticket.

Like the other reviewer said, this is more like a stroll and walk rather than a hike. An easy path to follow that takes you throughout the botanical gardens. Lots of lovely plants and flowers, but make sure to bring bug spray if you don’t like getting mosquito bites.

The wedge is a great place to watch people get pounded! When it gets really big, the brave souls, or the crazy ones, come out to body surf this epic spot. I don’t dare to go in when it’s super big so I watch from the beach. They’re gonna be quite a show that gets put on, but watch out! Pain could be felt by those on the beach, by the ones that get swept over by the waves, at The Wedge.

There’s lots to do in this area, including the beach. Shops, food, bars, but parking can be a bit of a challenge. If you’re looking for quiet and secluded beaches, this is definitely not the place.😜
