The Red Oaks Nature Center Trail in Madison Heights, Michigan, is a 1.3-mile loop trail. It is primarily flat and well-maintained, making it suitable for all skill levels. The trail is open year-round and is primarily used for hiking, walking, and bird watching. The trail winds through a variety of habitats, including mature oak-hickory forest, wetlands, and meadows. Along the way, hikers will pass by a small pond and a creek, both of which attract a variety of wildlife. There are several benches and picnic tables along the trail for rest and observation. The trail also features an interpretive center with exhibits on local wildlife and conservation efforts. Hikers are advised to wear sturdy shoes and bring water, as there are no facilities along the trail. Dogs are allowed, but must be kept on leash.
