I agree that this camping location is convenient to Grand Junction and that the stars and sunsets are beautiful. A word of warning though, this is not a pristine camping location. The area is strewn with litter of all types, but mostly the type that was used as a shooting target first. Also, when I was was here, mid March, there were probably 200 head of cattle ranging in the area. I have no problem with cattle grazing, but it makes for unclean camping areas. As an easy and free place to camp while riding the trails of GJ and Fruita, five stars, as a camping destination, two stars.
