The Many Glacier area of Glacier National Park is well-known for its popular hiking trails, but it also provides travelers with the opportunity to kayak.
Swiftcurrent Lake is easily accessed along the shores of Many Glacier Hotel where ample parking is available. The Glacier Park Boat Company offers single and double kayak rentals onsite (pricing and dates of operations are available here: glacierparkboats.com) or you can bring your own.
The calm waters allow you to relax and take in the views of the surrounding mountains. And for an added adventure, you can kayak to the end of Swiftcurrent Lake where there is a small creek that connects it to Lake Josephine. If you’re willing to navigate your way through, you will be rewarded with more breathtaking views. Just steer clear of the tour boats that travel across both lakes throughout the day.
