Easy 1-hour hike to the 1700m high summit from Porters Pass. Be careful of the weather as it changes and the way is unmarked.

The Foggy Peak trail is an unmarked path leading from the carpark at the top of Porters Pass to the summit of Foggy Peak. The clouds can get very low here so be sure to bring a GPS or be knowledgeable in the mountains.

From the carpark just duck under the fence and head on up to the top. The way is very easy but can be slippery in snowy conditions. The trail starts off relatively steep before flattening out a bit and then steepening once more to the summit.

After an hour or so from the car you'll reach the summit and then it's another 30 minutes back to the carpark. A great hike in that sense that you don't have to "slog" through the forest to get above the trees. You're already there and you can enjoy the scenery.

If the weather is good then you can continue along the ridge to Castle Hill Peak, the highest point in the range. The views from here are superb and you won't be disappointed in spending the extra hour or so along the ridge line.
