Epic views of Thor's Well, the Spouting Well, Good Fortune Cove, and Cook's Chasm along the Oregon Coast.

The Oregon cost is some of the most dramatic coastline in the Western United States, and the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area hosts an array of unique features arches, chasms, and blowholes like Thor's Well.

The Captain Cook Trail is a quick way to take in some of the best features of the Scenic Area, all within a short, .75 mile loop trail that goes down from Highway 1 / 101 and out to the coast and back.

To get there simply take Highway 101 south from Yachats for 2.3 miles and then park in the well-marked parking lot. You can head either direction on the loop from the parking area.

More information can be found on the USDA Cape Perpetua site here.

Note that like any area along the Oregon Coast the ocean conditions can vary drastically and can be dangerous. Sneaker waves are a very real concern. Always check conditions before exploring tidepools and other areas.

I absolutely LOVE this area! I could sit and watch the waves crash into the rocks all day long. Definitely a place I recommend to anyone heading that way. The trails are all nicely maintained and easy
