The French Creek State Park Campground is ideal for groups, families, or individuals seeking some solitude. Hit the shady woodland trails by foot or by horse, dive into the lakes in the heat of summer, admire the colorful explosion of oak and maple trees in autumn, or slip into your snowshoes in the wintertime.

French Creek State Park is a great destination close to Philadelphia for those seeking any number of outdoor activities. Hiking, mountain biking, fishing, paddling on the lakes, etc. That said, the camp grounds are quite cramped and crowded. For anyone who enjoys any type of solitude, "peace and quite" or "getting away from it all" from a camping experience, this is not your campground. Definitely make this park a destination on your day trip list for its many outdoor activities, just leave the tent at the house and pack a lunch instead.
