Description
Added by Jeff Henderson
This smooth and level trail takes you along Slippery Creek and is a great hike for the whole family.
Hells Hollow is part of McConnell's Mill State Park. It is a short and quick hike with things to do and see the entire way! During the winter the snow turns this place into a life-like snow globe, while in the spring the wildflowers make for beautiful sights.
Start off by parking at the Hells Hollow Parking Lot. From here you will access the Hells Hollow trail that takes you to the Hell's Hollow Falls. This trail runs along and crosses Hell Run, a wilderness trout stream. Fishing is allowed!
After a short stint on the Hells Hollow trail you will come to a marked sign splitting the trail. Continue on by following the Hells Hollow Trail toward the "Falls". Once you get close to Hell's Hollow Falls, there are wooden stairs that take you to the bottom and to the end of the trail. Follow the trail back to get back to the Parking Lot.
Other Opportunities:
From Hells Hollow trail you can access the Slippery Rock Gorge Trail, a 6.2 mile long trail that meanders through McConnell's Mill State Park and along the Slippery Rock Gorge. This trail is advanced and needs planning and gear.

Hike Through Hells Hollow Reviews
This short half mile trail leads to a fantastic water cascade and an old limekiln. Though the trail ends at the water's edge, you can cross the creek in a few different spots and find some great photo opportunities. Great trail to take if you are looking for a way to spend an hour of easy hiking.

Of all the times I have been to McConnells Mill, I have yet to see Hell's Hollow. Very excited to adventure out there after reading about yours.

I love it here in the winter but prepare for a lot of ice on the trail due to heavy foot traffic.

We went on a warm winter day so the stairs that take you down were flooded out. Otherwise easy leveled hiked.
