A beautiful adventure as you hike to the highest tea house in Canada. Be sure to hit the trail early, we were the first to sit down and counted over 600 people ascending as we left. While this is closed in the winter, it is a fun snowshoe trek so long as there are no avalanche warnings! A bench just past the Tea House overlooks the waterfall is a perfect place to rest.

Great views overlooking Kapaa! There are a few benches to enjoy the view along with a prayer box. Definitely worth the effort!

Beautiful hike with a waterfall to remind you that you're on the Garden Isle. This is a great area to spot turtles along the rocks near Queen's Bath. This area can get crowded and you definitely need to check the tide as it can be dangerous, hence the sign marking the number of fatalities.

This is an easy walk with a paved path that offers absolutely stunning views of the lower falls. While the summer months can be packed with tourists, look at the fall for less people. The closer to winter the less the falls, so do your homework.

This is a world famous view and for good reason. If you want to dodge the crowds and tour buses, try hiking up to artist point for an awesome view!

Two jack is a pristine body of water that offers Mount Rundle as a backdrop. Perfect spot for sunrise photography and you just may be the only one there!

This perfect jaunt is not very strenuous but will provide you with some beautiful red rock landscape.

Beautiful hike butbe ready to face the crowds, especially on weekends. The fresh spring gushes out if the rim face and is remarkable. You can also camp near this area amongst some large boulders.

An awesome kayaking trip! To avoid crowds it's best in the winter. The rock walls are stunning and there are a couple of beaches to catch some rays!

Very nice loop with great views of the valley. Downside is that the traffic can be very heavy! I enjoy doing this at night where you can appreciate the solitude and city lights!

The most magnificent lake in all if Banff. Author doesn't really state, but hike up to the rock pile for your shots!

Get here early to beat the crowds and you will enjoy one of the most pristine lakes you have ever seen! The emerald color of the water is simply stunning and the hike allows for a greater appreciation. If you want to duck out of the crowds, take a simple hike up to hamilton falls!

Just completed yesterday and it is certainly one of the most magnificent waterfalls I've ever seen. Just know, if the gate is closed to access the trailhead it will be an additional 4 mi hike round-trip. Be careful in wet conditions as the trail become very slick.

They offer new online parking reservations at Recreation.gov if you want to ensure good parking for this very busy area. While I've avoided this area the last couple of years due to all the crowds, trash and injuries. I've heard that it has rebounded since the permit system and will have to check it out!

Artist Point will allow you to enjoy Tunnel View without the traffic. You get to hike upon an old stagecoach road and upon reaching Artist Point, you get to enjoy the view while the tour buses collect far below you!

The West Fork Trail is one of the most beautiful hikes in Arizona. It also has some interesting history with the Mayhew Lodge. One of the most enjoyable times to hike this trail is during the fall when leaves are changing. While the temps are cooler you also have less foot traffic. If staying in town, check out the Butterfly Garden Inn for a one-of-a-kind experience!

The Mogollon Rim is an awesome destination, but can become very crowded in the summers given the short drive from Phoenix. The Forest Service has started to implement 'quiet zones', which they have a map on their website. There are plenty of places to camp and you must be mindful of the fire restrictions. My favorite time to camp is typically before forest road 300 opens to traffic.

Vermillion Lakes is an awesome series of lakes that is worth visiting, especially if you're into photography. There is a hot spring located at the third lake and be sure to check out the surrounding meadows for grazing elk!

If heaven can be improved this is it! I visited Lake Louise towards the end of Feb when you could still walk on the lake, but it was starting to melt near the shore. A fun trip is to snowshoe up to mirror lake, but be mindful of avalanche warnings. I am headed back in July to complete the Tea House hike!

38 miles & 3 days of awesome backpacking! While you will engage in over 200 water crossings, I definitely recommend getting 3 mm 18" neoprene socks. Not only will this help keep your feet dry, but also keep you warm and protect your shins from the brush. Around mile 24 is an awesome wall of Petroglyphs that you have to hike up to so don't miss it! This is a once in a lifetime trip!

This bend in the Colorado River is simply Iconic. I plan to head back this year and do a float trip around the bend. Meanwhile, anyone else looking for some inspiration look no further!

Those that know Tom Thumb more intimately are able to visit the Ogre's Den and the Miner's Cave! Great hike!
