Camp at Lone Rock Beach

Lone Rock Beach is located on Highway 89, 2 miles south of Big Water, Utah and 12 miles north of Page, Arizona. When you enter through the park gate, you’ll be required to pay a $10/night fee at the toll booth. Plan on arriving at Lone Rock Beach and setting up camp in the daylight because there are many roads down to the beach that consist of soft sand that cars can easily get stuck in. It’s important to stay on the hard packed roads to avoid the need to call a tow truck or asking one of your fellow campers to tow you out.

Lone Rock Beach Campground is considered a primitive camping area because there are no designated campsites. You drive directly onto the sand next to the shore and set up wherever you like. Waking up and seeing the Lone Rock, a large isolated redrock formation, right outside of my tent in the morning is one of the better views I’ve woken up to. During the winter the outhouses are closed so be prepared if you plan to go during this time of year. During other times of the year, you’ll find bathrooms, outhouses, cold showers, and potable water in the camp area. Lone Rock Beach is open for camping year-round but the best time is during the warmer seasons if you want to enjoy any water activities.
