My niece and I hiked this trail yesterday, August 7, 2018! It wasn’t too busy but friendly folks in passing. I was sad to see the Falls not as flowing as I’d wished; of course this is due to the lack of rain and drought conditions in Colorado. This was a fairly easy hike and we actually did it in flip flops because that’s all we had and we randomly decided to hike it after a day of shopping and hanging out in Pagosa Springs. I wish there would start being more info about Leave no Trace! Seen one family that was chain smoking up a storm while hiking and just throwing there cig butts all over the trail 🤢😣 My niece and I ended up using our time coming back to pick them up and throwing them away. All in all this is a great hike and is worth the 15-20 minutes to stop and check it out. We probably good of hiked it faster but again we weren’t equipped with the right shoes 🤣 and we took lots of photos and played around in the water!

Explored the paint mines this weekend and I was so amazed at the colors and the formations within the park. You can spend hours exploring and photographing! I was sad to see that there was some graffiti on some of the formations!! I am not sure why people do this and it was sad to see. Other than that it was a great experience and a lovely hidden Colorado gem
