During larch season this is a killer hike for scenery. Try to get there before sunrise to catch the sun as it comes up in Headlight Basin. Bonus, you avoid most of the people who arrive later and get the lake practically to yourself for awhile.

One of my favorite areas of the state. This an absolutely gorgeous hike, especially at peak wildflower season. Goats, elk, marmots, amazing views. Well worth the effort.

Took a non-hiking friend here & it was just right for him. Buggy, but pleasant to sit by the lake and eat a snack while soaking in the sun in the summer.

The first backpacking trip I went on aftery busy with day hikers, but only a couple of other backpackers when we went in late June. I think the snow & nearly completely iced lake kept people away.

I did this on a frosty week in mid November, which was perfect. I was there just after sunrise, so there were only one other pair of hikers & I had the cave to myself. If you cross over the hill to the right, you'll see a pair of frozen waterfalls.

I did this hike with my grandparents who were both in their late 70's at the time. A beautiful, cloudy day in October hike.

I can't even count how many times I've done this hike. Great for a rainy day. Don't expect it to be without crowds though, even on rainy days.
Enjoyable hike. Some exposed spots, so on hot days make sure to bring plenty of water for yourself and any four-legged buddies.
Most avid hikers in the Seattle area have done this hike. Whether you do the old trail or new, it's not for those who rarely get out, unless you'll expect a bit of a spanking. Beautiful views of the Snoqualmie Valley if the day is clear.

Crossed the log jam and did an overnight next to this beauty of a lake. SUPER CROWDED on the weekends. Go on the weekday. Trust me.
