This camp spot is a hidden gem in the Canadian Rockies, no permit required and virtually unoccupied during the off-season.
Turn off of the David Thompson Highway at Preachers Point Staging Area, approximately 60km south west of Nordegg. Beside Abraham lake, enjoy a perfect camp spot with beautiful views of the Canadian Rockies in every direction. With no cell service or amenities, this is a true experience of being the outdoors, and a cost-free stay. During the fall and winter months, you may have the area to yourself to enjoy the serenity of nature and a truly indescribable camping experience.

In the winter it's one of the few spots open near Abraham Lake. If you're camping in temps below 0˚F you'll likely be the only one.
