Great little hike! In my opinion the better layered views are to the West making it ideal for sunset. And hiking back down with a headlamp is no problem at all. Well worth it!

Perfect hike for the family! Great views at the summit with minimal elevation gain, and plenty of exploring and rock scrambling to keep the older kids interested. Ideal for sunset, but great for anytime really.

Awesome hike with equally awesome views. I would not say that this is short and easy though, there is substantial elevation gain making the moderate distance more difficult. But definitely worth it, some of the best views around by far!

Definitely worth the trip, especially if you're a climber! Don't be afraid to get in your car and drive some of the smaller back roads to get different vantage points of the bridge, may find fewer people in those areas as well as stumble on climbers!

Hard to beat the convenience of this hike literally right off the interstate. I enjoy taking my dog on this hike especially since it is much less crowded than either Tinker or McAfee's. And the views are still wonderful once you top out on the first ridge.

Perhaps the most iconic valley ever photographed, it's hard to put into words the feeling you get in Yosemite Valley. Try to go before Summer to attempt to beat the crowds! And also try to work in the huge fallen tree into your foreground 👍

Loved this hike, and the views were outstanding. Even though the distance is short, the rock scramble made things interesting and fun. We stayed through sunset, and were still able to make it back down before needing to use our headlamps. Great hike!

What a fun waterfall, I had a great time photographing it and the hike was super short. And this place won't be nearly as populated as other nearby waterfalls. I had the place to myself on a Saturday night!!

Probably one of the best places to photograph the sunset on the Virginia section of the Parkway, and fun for kids (and adults too) to explore the rocks and boulders!!

Perfect hike for a young family due to its short distance. But also one of my favorites...absolutely beautiful. And if your in to fishing it's a great place as they routinely stock it. Be sure to pay attention when you cross over to the special regulation area though.

Love Dragon's Tooth. Short but super fun especially when you get to the rock scrambling section. Just be careful. Kids and dogs may not be recommended, however I've done it with both. Just be aware of what you're getting into.

The hike can definitely be on the steep side if you're not used to it, and plenty of stairs to navigate once you get close, but it's very much worth it. Recommended.

Short little hike, but if you're just stopping by and want to get a quick view of a waterfall then it's perfect. The railroad is an added point of interest.

If you're looking for a quick sunset hike then definitely cross the road and head uphill on the A.T. You'll be there in no time and it's a great place to watch the sunset. Easy enough for kids too.

Must do if you can score a backcountry permit! One of the most memorable backcountry experiences I've had!

Hands down one of my favorites, and as the author said it hikes relatively fast. We saw a mama grizzly and two cubs on the way up, and then a half dozen mule deer at the lake. Awesome hike.

Probably the most popular day hike in Glacier, but still worth it. Definitely try for sunset as the hike back down goes much quicker and you should make it down just after dark (bring a headlamp of course). And certainly look out for the goats...super fun to watch and they're not shy at all.

Yes it's steep, but it's also short. My six year old did it with no problem. Super cool summit with awesome sunset views. Depending on how late you stay, it can get very dark in the way down as it's wooded the whole way, so be sure to bring a headlamp. Great little hike!

This is the most photographed spot on the A.T. And it's no wonder why. Yes, it's a long hike but not overly strenuous, and oh so worth it once you get to the top!

One of Virginia's most beautiful falls in my opinion, and super accessible! Very different than the mountain waterfalls typical to the area.

What more can be said really? This bike gives you some of the best views of Yosemite Valley and Yosemite Falls, and it's incredibly rewarding when you finally catch the first glimpse of Half Dome! Just be prepared, it's a steady climb non stop the entire 4.7 miles up. If you're not used to hiking out West, then get an early start and take your time. When you finally summit I guarantee you won't regret it!

Great hike, and incredibly unique geological site that's really unexplainable. Awesome sunset views! It's a steady climb so be sure to bring plenty of water.

Took my two sons here and had a lot of fun! If you're coming from Lexington, there's a much quicker route by going through Natural Bridge Station to Arnold Valley Rd which then turns into the Petites Gap gravel road mentioned above. Park just after the first bridge. All in all well worth the trip.

The reward to effort ratio is highly in favor of the reward part on this hike. It's an absolutely beautiful hike all along the Little Stony River. And as you come into your first view of the waterfall it doesn't disappoint. Totally dog friendly and kid friendly...done it with both. We usually hike in along the river/creek, and back out on the fire road.
