Willow lake(also known as Willow Heights) is a short 3/4 of a mile hike to a nice little mountain lake in Big Cottonwood Canyon.

The first 1/4 of a mile has the most elevation gain so don't get worried, it levels out quickly. Quaking aspens dot the entire mountain side and trail providing dramatic fall colors.

Once at the lake take in all the surroundings, enjoy the reflections that can be seen on the lake, and watch out for wildlife. On one hike to Willow Lake I saw four moose, a mother with two calves and a amazing bull.
