Came here after angels landing . This part of the park isn’t as crowded. Come during sunset and you can get a nice reflection from the water of the mountains and sky. You get a different view. Still just as pretty. Not as cold or windy as being up high in the mountains. A little easier trek and good for people who are afraid of heights and family. It is not as strenuous.

If you get a moment, try to stop by Cedar breaks, this place is quite pretty with the reflection of the sky in the red mountains. the drive was just as beautiful. It is green and then turns bright red orange. It gets a bit windy here so bring a wind breaker.

It use to be a hidden gem but now it is a big tourist location, if you get a chance to camp at Kirk because I highly recommend it. Bring some hiking sticks if you have bad knees, I hiked here a couple of times, and the hiking stick really helped. Next time when I do come back, I think I want to come back here to see the sun rise.

The hike here was not that bad. Come during the winter and you might be able to see some snow. But we missed it. The thi if he of refreshing water is so relaxing . Short nice hike here with a family is good and easy here. The elevation gain isn’t terrible. I would recommend.

A secret gem in the east bay. An an escape not too far from Oakland. Hills of redwood. I didn’t Tempe existed until I came here. Bring your belly food and your throat hydrated because hiking here in the summer is HOT! You can bring your dog but your might have to put him or her on a leash. The hike isn’t busy or at least when I was . So you get to really enjoy some quiet time. Listen to the nature or even an audio book.

This side of the park sometimes is neglected, but I think this is just as beautiful. I know that you have to start at Hetch Hetchy and getting to Ranchera Falls is quite complicated but at the end it is worth it. If you get a chance, I suggest coming here early on your hike and then catching the sunrise. If you end up camping here, I suggest you bring a bear box, a bell to deter the bears away. There are active bears, because I saw a bear scratches on my care bear canister. Make sure you bring some snacks, food water filter and definitely some good shelter and just be careful in the summer as it does get quite dry here and a couple of years ago there was a fire be weary and make sure that you bring your in reach as there is no phone service here. Good luck on your next trip.

If you are in crested Butte, I would suggest taking a tram partial summit to Mount crested Butte, 12,162 feet elevation. Just make sure that you acclimate to the environment as it does get pretty hard to breathe when you get higher into the mountains. Bring snacks bring water and make sure that you bring your mentally set mind for this hike. Also, make sure you wear proper shoes and bring sunblock. I would definitely come back here. I thought the view was quite spectacular. Next time I think I will bring a hat.

This is a long 33 mile there and back tap the trail so beware also bring a bear spray. If you do come this route there are grizzly bears out there. I didn’t do the entire trail and only part of it. It’s a beautiful place. This part of the valley tends to be neglected at times, but I think it’s a great place to go because it’s pretty quiet as opposed to the other side of the park. Make sure to keep your ears and eyes open to hear and see the animals, howling or running. It is quite spectacular.

Bring a 4x4 because if it rains it is hard to get up here. It is quite an epic trip to get here. They’re care tent campsites and rv sites. If you have an RV, it can be challenging. There are some slope areas that can be dangerous. We brought the trailer on the truck and it was real fun! There was nobody in site but us. I was able to go on a mini hike. There was water access around the fall which was nice. There was as a little big of snow but it didn’t stick . We came here early May. It is all country here with the best view. You will get to see some real Amish people on bikes

Depending of the day or time when you come here you should always bring a jacket. You can catch one of the best views in the city here. Come here during sunset and the sunset is quite nice. But then the fog rolls in just as quick and soon either disappears or stays. You can get lucky a park up there or not . It is a popular spot even for locals and tourist. I like it because of the view. It never gets old. And the drive is calming

First time doing this, I took the difficult route up to Dewey point and the meadow east route back. Brought food to eat at lunch with a view and made sure I had some hot chocolate. Thankfully I brought a foam pad to sit on so my butt was not cold . As a warning of you come just after a rain snowstorm don’t take the east route as there might be some floods and you could fall in the pool of water. Bring sunscreen, chapstick, coffee filter for boiling/melting ice. 1 out of 10 would recommend!! I give it a 10!

Getting here is a trek so make sure you fuel Ip on gas and fuel up on food and water. Make sure you bring proper gear: sunblock, shoes( not sandals or high heels), hat, long sleeve pants, shorts, swim wear Start this hike early as it does get crowded and parking can be tough. I started 9 am and go home at about 4pm. Just a long drive from SF, the finding parking, and then starting the hike. But it is worth it as it is my favorite hikes in the Bay Area.

I had been here a couple of times. But came here during Halloween. It was slightly cold and just wore leggings and long sleeve. I booked a via ferrata day. First time doing it but thankfully I am not that scared of heights. I went to the spot where I was to get my gear and meet with my guide. I picked up harness, shoes, helmet, and a backpack to put my water. I suggest coming here early in the day so you are not torched in the light or too late in the day and can’t see. It does take a couple of hours to hike down, harness yourself to the side of the mountain, and then climb hooked on the rope. I thought it was pretty pricey but for them to gear you up it was worth it. I initially had 2 other girls with me but both started feeling dizzy so they had to turn around. Turned out it was just me and the guide. I would recommend this activity if you are at the royal gorge.

I got the opportunity to camp here for my birthday . It was such a beautiful place. Sites are hard to get. The view was spectacular. Bring headlamps, bring lights, bring sheets or something to cover up the windows. Also I had. A little mouse eat part of my avocado, so please seal your food or have it stored properly. Leave no trace and they have firewood you can buy there, just bring cash. They don’t give change so make sure you have dollar bills. Also if you come around February/ March, there are beautiful Calle Lilies

Been wanting to come here forever from everybody’s photo. Parking is quite easy but get there early. It is a pretty crowded place so if you are not a crowd person don’t come. There is a little coffee shop at the bottom and snacks too. If I am in this area again I will pile come here to see what it is like earlier in the day. The hike isn’t that long but just be up for it . :)

Bring a towel or 2 along with your water. This hot spring is less than 1/2 mile off the highway. It is a short partially paved from where you would be parking One of my favorite soaking spots off the road. If you are in the water and see bubbles, those are the hot spring water coming out. Go to the ones that has the most bubbles because it is hotter in that area. The view of the sawtooth mountain was amazing. I came here mid-day but wish I came during sunset or sunrise. Make sure you and your car is ready to drive off road for a bit.

Pack in and pack out. Bring layers. There is maybe 3 days out of the year that the city gets so hot that you are able to come to the beach. The sunset is spectacular. One of my favorite spots. This view never gets old. I love the view of the bridge, sunset, and the sound waves of the water crashing. Parking can be tough and the restroom can be gross as this is getting really popular. Try to pack your things and bring it with you. People don’t want to clean after you and I am sure you don’t want to clean after them.

I was able to visit the bishop castle just after summer. It was around autumn. When I got here it was super cool! Kind of scary as you have to walk up at your own risk. If you are afraid of heights, I don’t recommend coming. I really enjoyed the spiral stairs and seeing the fireplace. Too bad I didn’t see Mr. Bishop. He actually lives in the rv and works on his castle dream. If you come during cold weather, bring layers. Also, make sure you fill your tank before coming here because getting gas is quite far.

My first time backpacking in Crater Lake National Park. It was one of the hardest trek I have done. To add that it was snowing and cold. You have to enter the park and then go to the park ranger to get a permit to park your vehicle . The permit is free. We hiked about 2 miles to the meadow and posted up. The meadow had a slant so be cautious about setting up your tent. I set up my tent and got everything situated and then tried to go to sun notch trail. We were pretty exhausted and missed it. I don’t suggest following all trails to find Sun notch trail as there are no signs. I would suggest to download the google offline map as that is more accurate. We retried to go to sun notch trail to see the phantoms shipwreck. It was so beautiful and nobody in site. Bring a snack, electrolytes, and something warm to much or heat up . I am sure it is much easier when there is no snow but the view in the snow was so much crisper and rewarding. My photos does no justice. I would suggest try backpacking it in the snow and always check weather condition because we saw some major rock slides .

Looks like this place needs a permit now. Good! Because it was tooo crowded. Came here before it was super popular. I work my trekking boots and my friend wore her nikes. Don’t wear your nikes, she nearly slipped and fell. She didn’t go all the way up. But I did. It was so hard. But worth it. The view was spectacular. I learned about the cables on the side during this hike and wish I had gloves. More like climbing gloves to prevent slippage. The hike was long and slippery at certain spots but lucky I had good shoes. Also bring sunscreen.
