An easy hike that takes you right up to the climber's route, Cooper Spur offers incredible views of glaciers and the surrounding skyline. This hike is almost entirely above tree line, so bring your sunscreen!

Even at the end of summer, Tamanawas was flowing nicely. The hike was easy and short, offering beautiful views of the creek along the way.

The waterfall is absolutely breathtaking. The trail to the lake is well maintained, lush, and beautiful. If you are hoping to photograph the waterfall, be certain that you have prepared for spray!

Mount Storm King is a relatively short, yet incredibly steep hike. You are rewarded with spectacular views at the top, so be sure that you use the ropes to help you reach the summit views.

Rich with history and beautifully maintained, the Cape Henry Lighthouses are a wonderful place to stop during a visit to Virginia Beach.

My favorite view is from the beautiful gazebo through the marshlands. Fun fact: the Bodie Island Lighthouse was originally spelled Body according to a sign that hangs over the interior door.

A climb to the top of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is always a treat but for an extra special experience, visit in the summer when the rangers lead full moon tours to the top of the tower.

Across the street from the Chesapeake Bay, First Landing State Park is a fun place to explore and get lost in the woods. Perfect for family walks, there are lots of trails to spread out.

I grew up in a family that launched ski boats from the shores of Munden Point. The park and facilities are perfect for weekend activities. Lots of bugs, so be prepared!

The views from the top of Mount Washington are wonderful! We were lucky enough to hike on a clear day where we could see perfectly. The trail is certainly popular, so start early!

The volume of water pumping over Snoqualmie Falls is simply spectacular. I visited on a rainy day and the lower falls were closed, but the upper falls view was great!

Toketee is a beautiful waterfall! While the viewpoint could be better, the trail is accessible and easy for families.

Growing up in SE Virginia, I visited Colonial Williamsburg many times as a kid. But, visiting as an adult makes it all the more special as I truly understand the history and value of the memories preserved in this special place.

False Cape is a beautiful place to visit well off the beaten path. Perfect for sunrise or sunset, it offers beautiful photography, excellent birding, and a secluded, off the grid feeling.

Alki Beach offers a beautiful view of the downtown Seattle skyline. At night it is especially beautiful to see the city lights reflected on the water.

A beautiful, scenic hike overlooking the city of Quito takes you to over 15,000 feet.

The trail through McDowell Creek Park offers excellent views of unexpected waterfalls. We had a hard time understanding the parking and ended up hiking on the road for part of the time, otherwise, this would be a top-rated trip!

On a clear day, this snowshoe offers spectacular views of the surrounding peaks. A fairly easy trail of prints in the snow guides you straight up the mountain, through snow-covered trees. Once you break treeline, the peak will open up to a relatively flat area allowing you to meander the summit for unparralled views.
