From the carpark, follow the trail downhill towards the beach. Once down to the major rock formation that sits over the water, there will be a small tunnel on your left that leads down to the beach. Follow this steep set of stairs for a couple minutes before reaching the beach.

After exploring the beach, take the same tunnel pathway back out onto the rock formation. From here you can either take the trail back or take some time to go out onto the rock formation and explore the views from up above the beach.

Exploring Tunnel Beach Reviews

For anyone traveling to Dunedin this is a must do since it's super accessible and not long. The short walk down to tunnel beach offers great views of the coast looking north and the cool rock/cliff formations are photogenic. I went during sunrise and it was incredibly beautiful. I only wish the each itself was a bit bigger since at high tide you can't really enjoy it.
